Trail Run

Escape the pavement and embrace the terrain at the Trail Run in Nerang National Park. Wind through rugged paths, forest tracks, and scenic landscapes in a race that’s as much about nature as it is about endurance. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or just looking for a new challenge, this event is your chance to push limits and soak in the outdoors.

Address: Nerang National Park – Start point at the Nerang Velodrome.

 

Competition Categories:

  • Individual Male and Female in following age groups:
    • 18-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ (all age categories will be separated into 5 year increments and continue past 70+ if required)

Competition Distances:

  • 7km – The ‘Goat Loop’ is a classic loop through the eastern section of Nerang National Park starting from the Nerang Velodrome and run in a clockwise direction. The loop begins with a steep climb easing into a series of undulating fire trails across open eucalypt forest, with a total elevation gain or around 260 metres. Generally rated as a moderate loop, the route is suitable for runners with a reasonable fitness base and technical footing, though the terrain remains runnable for most. The loop will take fast runners approximately 40 minutes to complete or 60 minutes for intermediate runners.
  • 14km – The same course as the 7km loop however turning off at the 2.3km point and head further out into the forest up the steep Billabirra Break Fireroad. At the top of the climb you will turn left for 2.5kms along the fireroad before turning back. At the turnaround point there will be a small aid station for drinks before beginning the return half of the route. Returning along the Centre Road Fireroad before turning onto the North Street Break Fireroad and finishing with 1.6km section of a fast descent to the finish line.

Change Rooms: No.

 

First Aid: First aid officers will be on site during the event.

 

Food/Beverage: No onsite food providers however there are local cafes close by.

 

Getting there: Competitors will need to source and arrange their own transport to this event and venue.

 

Free vehicle parking is available at the venue with space for buses and minibuses if required.
