GC26 is welcoming the sport of Squash back to the APES Games. Step into the court and feel the adrenaline where speed meets strategy in a battle for glory! Whether you're a seasoned player or a rising star, this competition promises intense rallies, sharp shots, and unmatched sportsmanship. With divisions for all skill levels, it's your chance to showcase your talent and connect with the squash community.

Date:  Wednesday-Thursday 14-15 October 2026          Time: 9am – 4pm          Cost: $40

Address: Carrara Indoor Sports Centre, 296 Nerang Broadbeach Road, Carrara. 

Competition Categories: 

  • Individual Male and Female
  • Doubles Male / Female / Mixed 
  • Individual Events are broken into grades: A, B, C 
  • Doubles: Open Only (all age groups) 

If there are insufficient numbers in each division the event organisers may combine divisions to ensure a competition is viable. 

 

Competition Structure: 

  • Round Robin Pool Play followed by knockout.
  • All singles matches will be ‘best of 5 games’ (unless numbers do not allow). 
  • All doubles matches will be ‘best of 3 games’ (unless numbers do not allow). 
  • A match consists of the best of 3 or 5 games of 11 points (players/teams must win by 2 points). 
  • Every time there is a service – there is a point scored. 
  • There is international standards for let, no let and strokes. 
  • Conduct warnings and further may be given for any of the listed reasons in the rulebook at the referee’s discretion.   

Competition Schedule 

  • Wednesday the 14th October – Singles.
  • Thursday the 15th October – Singles Finals, Doubles and then mixed doubles.

Check in: No later than 30mins prior to the start of the event. 

 

Toilets: Yes. 

 

Change Rooms: Yes. 

 

First Aid: First aid officers will be on site during the event. 

 

Food/Beverage: Food trucks and onsite café will be operating during the event for food and beverages. 

 

Getting there: Competitors will need to source and arrange their own transport to this event and venue. 

 

Free vehicle parking is available at the venue with space for buses and minibuses if required 

 

Public transport- TransLink bus services run to this location with a short walk to the centre. The nearest train station is Nerang Station, which is about a 23 minute walk. See the TransLink website https://translink.com.au or app to plan your journey.
