Shooting- Pistol- APSM

The Australian Police & Services Match (APSM) is a premier event that brings together law enforcement and emergency services personnel from across Australasia to compete in precision pistol shooting. More than just a competition, the match fosters camaraderie, discipline, and professional excellence among participants, while promoting safe and responsible firearms handling.

Date:  Monday-Tuesday 12-13 October 2026          Time: 9am-4pm          Cost: $50

Monday 12 October 2026- Australian Police & Services Match (90 round match)

  • 8:00 am:     Competitors sign on and range setup.
  • 8:45 am:     Competitors Range Briefing (all must attend).
  • 9:00 am      Competition commences.

Tuesday 13 October 2026- Australian Police & Services Match (Division 6 – is the AP&SM without the 50-metre component – 66 rounds required) 

  • 8:00 am:     Competitors sign on and range setup.
  • 8:45 am:     Competitors Range Briefing (all must attend).
  • 9:00 am      Competition commences.

  • Open Female
  • Over 50
  • Over 60
  • Open Teams (mixed)

Toilets: Yes.

Changerooms: No.

First Aid: Basic first aid available, please see your sports coordinator if required.

Food and Beverage: Competitors are encouraged to bring their own meals and snacks. A fridge and microwave are available for use. Bottled water can be purchased. Tea and coffee making facilities are available. Shops are 3.3kms away.

Getting there:  Competitors will need to source and arrange their own transport to this event and venue. 

Free vehicle parking is available at the venue with space for minibuses if required.

Accommodation: Please be aware that the Belmont Shooting Complex is approximately 72kms away from Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Motorway (M1) is usually extremely congested during peak hours.  Accommodation is available within the Belmont shooting complex.  See the availability –https://qldrifle.com/accommodation/

 

Please note: if you are staying near Belmont and are flying in the closest airport would be Brisbane.

 

International Competitors: International visitors wanting to use weapons in Australia require special permits from Australian police before arrival.  Please refer to the hyperlink for information. https://www.police.qld.gov.au/weapon-licensing/applying-visitors-licence

 

Firearms and Travel within Queensland: If you are travelling to Queensland with your firearms for an approved AP&ES Games shooting event, please bring your physical firearms licence card (Electronic copies will not be accepted) as proof for sport and target shooting. The Queensland Weapons Act 1990 & Weapons Regulations 2016 recognise interstate licenses for sport and target shooting.  Storage and transporting weapons in Queensland are covered in Sections 95 & 96 of the Weapons Regulation 2016.

Firearms Storage: The Queensland Police Pistol Club can offer safe storage of your firearm/s during your stay.  Prior arrangements must be made with the Sports coordinator.
