Competitor Structure:
- “Standard” powerlifting rules will apply and will most closely align with current APL standards. This includes the use of normal lift commands, such as Start, Press, and Rack commands for the Bench Press, along with the usual technical requirements and grounds for a failed lift. The only exception is that recently introduced IPF Bench Press rule changes will not be in effect for this competition.
- Lifts will be judged consistently and fairly with an emphasis on good lifting standards rather than overly pedantic officiating.
- All rules, commands, and judging expectations will be clearly explained during the lifters’ briefing prior to the commencement of warm ups.
- 3 attempts at each lift to build the biggest total lifted per weight class.
- You can select to do all 3 lifts, squat only, bench-press only, deadlift only or a combination of bench-press and deadlift only called push pull.
- Knee length socks required for anyone deadlifting.
- Tight fitting sports clothes or powerlifting singlet recommended.
- Belts, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves are permitted.
- NO equipment that improves strength may be used.
