Swimming – Open Water

Dive into the Challenge of Open Water Swimming. Get ready to test your endurance, skill, and spirit in the ultimate aquatic adventure! The Open Water Swimming invites swimmers of all levels to take on the thrill of racing across the Broadwater whether you're chasing a personal best or soaking in the atmosphere, this event promises excitement, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments.

Date:  Sunday 11 October 2026          Time: 9am – 2pm          Cost: $30

Address: Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport. (near Mitchell Park Boat Ramp).

Competition Categories:  

  • Individual Male and Female in the below age groups:
    • 18-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ (all age categories will be separated into 5 year increments and continue past 70+ if required)

Competition Structure:

  • 500mtr swim and 2000mtr swim.
  • Please Note: ALL competitors are required to wear a fluro cap during competition. Fluro PINK for 500mtr swim. Fluro GREEN for 2000mtr swim. (these can be purchased on the Merchandise page).

Check in: No later than 60mins prior to the start of the event.

 

Toilets: Yes. 

 

Change Rooms: No.

 

First Aid: First aid officers will be on site during the event.

 

Food/Beverage: Local cafés and restaurants will be available to purchase food and beverage from.

 

Getting there: Competitors will need to source and arrange their own transport to this event and venue. 

 

Paid parking is available at the location.  

 

Public transport- TransLink bus services and G:Link Light Rail run to this location, followed by a short walk. See the TransLink website https://translink.com.au or app to plan your journey.
