About APES games

The Hobart APES Games will be the 19th instalment of the ‘Games’, the history of the ‘Games’ on a National level dates back to 1984, when the inaugural National Police Games were held in Melbourne. The success of the inaugural Games led to New Zealand making an approach for inclusion. This led to the creation of the Australia and New Zealand Games Federation. As the years progressed, the Games evolved, leading to the current Games, title the Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games. Emergency Services workers and volunteers are welcome from throughout Australasia.

All emergency services agencies in Tasmania have embraced the concept of the AP&ES Games, with all agencies working together to ensure we deliver a quality Games, in an environment, that you will see, is second to none.
